I'm in India
Hey everyone,
I finally made it to India. This is the first time I have had internet connection. I arrived on time to the airport and David and Sheila were there to greet me with warm smiles as I looked out into a huge crowd of people waiting (kinda scary for the first moment in India).
For the first night of sleep i slept ok, it just took me a while to fall asleep and then I woke up wide awake at around 5am. My first full day here was more of a tourist day of Bombay. We went and drove around and saw some of the great sights to be seen here. My first meal in India was at none other than McDonalds and then today we ate lunch at Papa Johns. I guess India isn't that bad after all. But I was told that I should eat up as much of this Ameicanized food because Damoh there isn't such things.
Today we drove to the city of Pune which is where a lot of young Indians call home because of the many universities and other colleges. It was about a four hour drive from Bombay to Pune. We came to visit an American couple from Indiana, The Stacy's. They have been here since October. They have graciously gave us a place to stay and visit. They are also the ones who have the wireless internet in which I am able to email and update my blog and talk to Mercedes on instant messenger.
Other big news. I'm an Uncle for the 2nd time. My brother Matthew had his second boy Wyatt Lane yesterday (Friday 11). Everyone is healthy and well. Well I'm out for the night. Thanks for the prayers. David and I will be traveling back to Damoh on January 16. If you can pray for our safety as we travel, that would be great. Thanks.
love,
Zac
